Tiana Hemlock
Certified Instructor of Klein Technique, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Tiana HemlockTiana is a choreographer, dancer, teacher and writer who grew up mostly on the east coast of Australia. She started dancing in New York City in 2008, where she encountered and began studying Klein Technique™. She has continued to study Klein Technique™ and it continues to underpin her understanding of the body and movement practices to this day, almost ten years later. While in New York City she had the pleasure of dancing with Alexandra Beller, Lindsey Dietz Marchant, Nancy Bannon, Palissimo (Pavel Zustiak), SilCo Dance and Creature Theater (CJ Holm), as well as presenting her own choreographies and curating performance events.

In 2016 she graduated from SNDO (School for New Dance Development), Amsterdam, The Netherlands with a BA in choreography. She continues to make her own work and tour in Europe. She is currently interested in lineages of movement and their communities, forgetting newness and listening to everything at once. She looks for and works around how to build meaningful fictions and relations of all kinds for the futures.

Living between Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Berlin, Germany, Tiana continues the never-ending study of body, dance and the complex field of politics that surround these systems that are at once artistic and everyday. She has and continues to work and perform with and for Cristina Kristal Rizzo, Oneka von Schrader, Giulio D’Anna, Juli Reinartz, Jeremy Wade and Benjamin Kamino. She draws physical and artistic inspiration from Maria F. Scaroni, Donna Haraway, Judith Sánchez Ruíz, Katie Duck, Ria Higler and of course Susan T. Klein.
